Frequently Asked Questions

  • Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why do I get a Forbidden message when I try to access my web site?

This error message generally means that you are missing your index file.

You must have one of these files in your 'www' web directory:

  • index.htm
  • index.html
  • index.cgi

Note that the file name must be in lower case (it cannot be Index.html, INDEX.HTML, etc.).

    The other possible causes are:

  • You changed the permissions such that the index page (or the directory containing the index page) is not readable.
  • Your site was disabled because you exceeded your monthly traffic allocation and have not responded to our email about how you wanted to handle it.
  • You are more than 30 days past due on payment.
