  • Why can't I connect with telnet to my site?


    Your site is running on a custom version of Red Hat Linux that requires secure (encrypted) telnet connections (insecure telnet connections are not allowed).

    If you need (or simply want) to use a secure telnet connection you may use any secure (SSH) telnet program you choose. For a free secure Windows telnet program, see: Download - Info

    Once you have downloaded putty.exe:

  • run it

    putty
  • enter the host name (or IP address)
  • click on SSH
  • Save the profile (if desired, optional)
  • click Open to establish the connection
  • enter login and password when prompted
